OHCNH Annual Convention- September 16-18 2008 at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel,
Portsmouth, NH
- Public Relations campaign completed in March. We utilized some of our dealer’s customers as spokespersons. We ran television, newspaper and radio ads from December through to March. Fritz Wetherbee was our narrator for these ads.
- The OHCNH Executive Committee will meet with our Ad agency Griffin, York & Krause on April 16, 2008 to chart a new
course on a new road to managing your business in the future. We need to assist energy marketers and complimentary
businesses to thrive and in New Hampshire by providing consumers with modern socially responsible solutions for their energy needs. - Bob Garside was on New Hampshire Public Television concerning oil pricing, new diesel requirements and over the counter trading in overseas markets. The dates of the broadcast are Sunday April 13 at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday April 15 at 7:30 p.m. It was on NH outlook and had several retailers and truckers on as well.
- Operation Helping Hand- providing free oil to our service personnel continued its fourth season. We provided oil by
donations from 120 companies for a total of 36,000 gallons which helped 120 families. Eleven thousand dollars in cash
was donated by our very generous members. Thanks to all who participated. - Regulatory- State established commission to study the reduction of carbon in atmosphere and thermal renewable energy use reducing fossil fuel use at a projected cost of $15,000,000.00 annually
- Doomsday global warming scenarios rely on “old” science –“Frank Heller” letters@TimesRecord.Com During a closed door session with reporters in January 2008, Bob Lutz, Vice Chairman of general Motors said that global warming is a “total crock “.
- Bio Commission established by the Legislation this year included state use of Biodiesel, distribution license required
for small quantity Biodiesel producers, require Biodiesel sold in New Hampshire meet ASTMD6751 standards
continue commission in studying Biodiesel production and distribution. Bob Garside sits on both commissions. - Legislation-HB 1594- an act to establish first responder Hazmat teams by adding fees for hazardous materials
facilities and employees. The next hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 21, 2008, State House Room 100 at
10:30 a.m. You should plan on attending and sending an email to each of the 24 Senators. We need your help. Fire Chiefs are pressing the issue due to eventual loss of Homeland Security Funds.

The Oil Heat Council's Mission is to represent and be a resource to our members by monitoring and communicating pertinent information, regulatory actions and legislation at Federal, State and Municipal levels. To continue to identify and implement new programs, services and training that benefit the membership and the association. To communicate via public appearances and the media, informed responses to various oil industry situations and challenges affecting the consumer public. To keep the public informed regarding energy conservation, safety and environmental protection and the benefits of heating with oil; and to diligently uphold our commitment to the citizens of New Hampshire, practicing business of the highest standard, both professionally and ethically.
