Candia Woman Wins $500 from Oil Heat Council of NH
to Keep the Home Fires Burning

Cheryl Sparks is Winner of Winter Freeze Giveaway

CANDIA, NH -  The Oil Heat Council of New Hampshire has presented a check for $500 to a Candia woman, the winner of the Winter Freeze Giveaway.  Cheryl Sparks beat out nearly three-thousand other entrants in the contest to win the money for home heating oil.

“I’m really excited about being the winner of this contest.  I want to thank the Oil Heat Council for their generosity,” said Sparks.  “This prize means we don’t have to worry about how cold it gets this winter.”

Contestants of the Winter Freeze Giveaway had to answer winter weather related questions online.   Sparks got all five multiple choice questions correct and won the prize from the Oil Heat Council of New Hampshire.  More than 2,800 people entered the contest.

“We think the contest was a great success,” said Robert Garside, president of the Oil Heat Council of New Hampshire.  “All of our local oil heat dealers care about their customers.  It gives me a lot of satisfaction knowing Cheryl will have plenty of fuel this season to combat the winter freeze.”

Sparks received a ceremonial check at her home in Candia on Tuesday.  The check was presented by television personality Fritz Wetherbee, spokesman for the Oil Heat Council of NH and Robert Garside, president of the Oil Heat Council of NH.

“Congratulations to Cheryl.  I know this prize will help keep the home fires burning,” said Wetherbee. “Oil is a vital fuel source for Granite Staters.  The Oil Heat Council of NH is backed by local dealers who are dedicated to serving both their customers and their community. The commitment of the association to educate consumers about oil heat as well as help their community through a variety of charitable efforts is commendable.”

Originally founded nearly 45 years ago, the Oil Heat Council of NH is committed to educating homeowners and builders about oil heat’s economic and environmental benefits. Approximately 56% of all homes in New Hampshire heat with oil heat.  For more information on the Oil Heat Council of NH log on to www.nhoilheat.com.
